A big launch that's coming next week would be the Xiaomi 12 series. The company's latest flagship series is set to launch on 28 December 2021, but a few details of the new phones were already leaked. Xiaomi also posted some teasers, with the latest one about the Pro variant.

According to the Weibo posts, the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be the first to feature a second-generation LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) OLED display. It's using Samsung's latest E5 panel, which boasts excellent colour coverage (estimated at 112% of DCI-P3) and a full-screen peak brightness of up to 980nits.

Besides that, the new display would enable a greater range of variable refresh rates ranging from 10 to 120Hz. This helps reduce power consumption in a lot of scenarios. For example, 1Hz for e-books, 10Hz for static pages, 90Hz for mobile games, and more. Xiaomi has also managed to make the screen's refresh rate vary when you scroll, depending on how fast you're scrolling.

Of course, we won't know how it would perform in real life until we test it. But overall, we're expecting the Xiaomi 12 Pro to be more power-efficient than its predecessor. Let us know what you think instead in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more info about the phone.
