Today, the Xiaomi 12 series has finally been unveiled and there are two models for the Malaysian market - the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. From a starting price of RM2899 (more on the special flash sale later), here's everything you need to know about the pre-order details and tech specs.
Before we get into the specifications, here are some news of the pre-order. Each purchase of the Xiaomi 12 or Xiaomi 12 Pro complimentary premium gifts worth up to RM2197 that includes a Xiaomi Soundbar 3.1ch worth RM1499 (door-to-door delivery upon device collection), a 1+1 year extended product warranty worth RM499 and a free screen replacement within 6 months upon purchase for damages under warranty worth RM199 for each purchase.
Now onto the tech specs, the Xiaomi 12 series is exactly what you saw online from the previous leaks. Both phones feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, obviously, alongside a memory capacity of up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. - Xiaomi 12 Pro (12GB + 256GB) - RM3899
- Xiaomi 12 (8GB + 256GB) - RM2999
- Xiaomi 12 (8GB + 128GB) - RM2899
Besides the 32MP selfie and 50MP primary main camera, the rear camera setup for both phones differs a bit. For one, the pro variant features a 50MP (ultrawide) and 50MP (telephoto) on the triple rear camera, while the vanilla Xiaomi 12 uses a lower 13MP (ultrawide) and 5MP (telemacro) sensor. The battery is on the pro is 4600mAh, just 100mAh more than the Xiaomi 12.
Despite the similar battery capacity, the Xiaomi HyperCharge on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is 120W. That's almost double the Xiaomi 12's 67W fast-charging technology. Nevertheless, both devices share the same 50W wireless turbocharging, 10W reverse wireless charging, and Xiaomi AdaptiveCharge technology.
Finally, the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro sport a 120Hz 6.28-inch and 6.73-inch AMOLED DotDisplay respectively. Other notable features include a Dolby Atmos sound system with Harman Kardon speakers, NFC support, and a dual-SIM with dual 5G standby support. There's also a Xiaomi 12X that is the same as the standard Xiaomi 12, except that it uses a Snapdragon 870 chipset and it won't be released in Malaysia.
Xiaomi promises that the Xiaomi 12 series will have 3 years of Android upgrades as well as 4 years of security updates.
