Xiaomi Malaysia today released its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 13 series in our country during an event in Kuala Lumpur. Comprising the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, the main highlights of the series have got to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and the camera collaboration with Leica.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro features a 6.73-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, 1920Hz DC dimming and peak brightness up to 1900 nits.
Besides that, the Xiaomi 13 Pro also offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. As for the battery, the smartphone features a 4820mAh cell with support for 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is equipped with triple 50MP cameras at its rear. The main camera uses the Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor paired with a Leica-branded lens with f/1.9 aperture and Hyper OIS.
The ultra-wide camera is a 50MP f/2.2, 14mm unit with macro support and AF. Finally, the telephoto camera is a 50MP f/2.0 lens with a close focusing distance of 10cm and a further 3x zoom reach than the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
Other notable features include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby’s head tracking feature, IR blaster and IP68 water and dust resistance.
Moving on, the Xiaomi 13 features a 6.36-inch 120Hz OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen also supports HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, HLG and a peak brightness of 1900 nits.
Besides that, the Xiaomi 13 features the same RAM and storage technology as the Pro variant. As for the battery, the Xiaomi 13 sports a smaller 4500mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
As for cameras, the Xiaomi 13 has a 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP telephoto triple-camera setup. Other notable specs include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby Head Tracking, IR blaster, as well as IP68 water and dust resistance.
In Malaysia, the Xiaomi 13 series is available for purchase starting 8 March 2023 via Authorised Xiaomi stores, official Xiaomi retailers and online at official stores on Lazada and Shopee. The Xiaomi 13 comes in a singular 12/256GB variant and is priced at RM3499. It's available in Black, White and Flora Green colour options.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. The 12/256GB variant is priced at RM4599 while the limited edition 12/512GB variant is only available for purchase via a limited edition package priced at RM5999. The limited edition package comes bundled with the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro and Xiaomi 33W PowerBank 10,000mAh Pocket Edition Pro.
