Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 13 series in China, its latest flagship smartphone series comprising the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The main highlight of both devices has got to be the processor under the hood, which is the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
First up, the Xiaomi 13 Pro features a 6.73-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, 1920Hz DC dimming and peak brightness up to 1900 nits.
Besides that, the Xiaomi 13 Pro also offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. As for battery, the device features a 4820mAh cell with support for 120W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
In terms of imaging, both devices retain the partnership with LEICA. For the Xiaomi 13 Pro, it is equipped with triple 50MP cameras at its rear. The main camera uses the Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor paired with a Leica-branded lens with f/1.9 aperture and Hyper OIS.
The ultra-wide camera is a 50MP f/2.2, 14mm unit with macro support and AF. Finally, the telephoto camera is a 50MP f/2.0 lens with a close focusing distance of 10cm and a further 3x zoom reach than the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
Other notable features include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby’s head tracking feature, IR blaster, IP68 water and dust resistance and a colour option of White, Black, Green and Light Blue.
Moving on, the Xiaomi 13 features a 6.36-inch 120Hz OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen also supports HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, HLG and a peak brightness of 1900 nits.
Besides that, the Xiaomi 13 features the same RAM and storage technology as the Pro variant. As for the battery, the Xiaomi 13 sports a smaller 4500mAh battery with support for 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
As for cameras, the Xiaomi 13 has a 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide + 10MP telephoto triple-camera setup. Other notable specs include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers with Dolby Head Tracking, IR blaster, as well as IP68 water and dust resistance. The device is available in several colour options, including Black, Light Green, Light Blue, Grey, White, Red, yellow, Green and Blue.
In China, both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are now available for pre-order with shipments starting this Wednesday (14 December). Here are the prices for both devices:

Xiaomi has yet to reveal the availability of the Xiaomi 13 series outside of China, though we’re pretty sure that it will be getting a global release soon. Well, we just have to wait for the official announcement to find out.
