As you may know, news about the Xiaomi 14 series has been popping up this week. That's not unusual, considering Mobile World Congress 2024 starts next Monday. Xiaomi is set to unveil many things at the event, and among them are the new Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. We received some details in advance, so let's take a look!

Xiaomi 14

According to Xiaomi, its new Xiaomi 14 was designed to be more compact, at least for a typical flagship. It measures 152.8mm x 71.5mm x 8.20mm, sporting mostly flat sides with a back slightly curved around the edges for better grip. Despite the size, it features a 6.36-inch CrystalRes AMOLED 1.5K resolution (2670x1200 pixels) display. It provides sharp visuals at a high peak brightness of 3000 nits, plus refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz.

One of the best things about the Xiaomi 14 series is the cameras. With the Xiaomi 14, you'll get a triple-camera setup at the back. The main camera is a 50MP Light Fusion 900 sensor with a dynamic range of up to 13.5 EV, combined with a f/1.6 aperture Leica Summilux optical lens. There's also a 14mm 50MP ultra-wide camera, plus a 75mm floating telephoto lens with a 10mm minimum focal distance.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra

As for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, expect many features to be the same. But it does have a more solid body, thanks to the high-strength aluminium frame. Moreover, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features nano-tech vegan leather and the Xiaomi Shield Glass for a high-quality build. The AMOLED display is also larger at 6.73 inches and has a higher WQHD+ resolution (3200x1440 pixels) for an ultra-sharp image.

Camera-wise, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a quad-camera setup instead. Its main camera is an ultra-large 1-inch Sony LYT-900 image sensor with a dynamic range of up to 14 EV. It also has a f/1.36 to f/4.0 step-less variable aperture, which offers seamless exposure adjustments. The other three are the 75mm floating telephoto camera, 120mm periscope camera, and 12mm ultra-wide camera.

But the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra aren't just visually appealing in looks and display quality. As you may have expected, both come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which delivers improvements of up to 32% in CPU performance and up to 34% in GPU performance. The new chipset also helps enhance battery life, using 38% less power than its predecessor. Both phones also support 90W HyperCharge and 80W Wireless HyperCharge.

We also don't know when the phone will be launched here, but we'll keep an eye out for further news and update this post once we have it. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.

Update: The prices for the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra have just dropped! The base Xiaomi 14 retails for Euro 999 (~RM5167), while the Ultra variant is priced at Euro 1499 (~RM7754). If the prices scare you, don't worry. European prices tend to seem pricey when converted, but you can expect these to be lower when they arrive in Malaysia
