Two weeks ago, Xiaomi confirmed that the Xiaomi 14T series would go global soon. Well, now the company has unveiled the details about the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. Both devices are also expected to be available in Malaysia later tomorrow.
So, how does the Xiaomi 14T compare to the Xiaomi 14? Long-time fans probably know that Xiaomi's T-variant smartphones are more of a 'sidegrade'. The Xiaomi 14T sports a Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. Based on that, you could consider this more of an upper mid-range device.
Although its chipset isn't fast as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Xiaomi 14T packs a larger 5000mAh battery (vs 4600) and a larger 6.67-inch OLED display (vs 6.36-inch). Moreover, this display has a higher max refresh rate of 144Hz and up to 4000nits peak brightness.
On the camera side of things, the Xiaomi 14T has the same 32MP front selfie camera. However, the rear camera setup is a 50MP+50MP+12MP (wide + telephoto + ultrawide) combo. Moreover, the main 50MP camera uses a smaller 1/1.56" sensor (vs 1/1.31"). It also doesn't support 8K video capture.
The similarities between the Xiaomi 14T Pro and Xiaomi 14 Pro are slightly less obvious. For one, the Xiaomi 14T Pro sports a flat screen while the Xiaomi 14 Pro's display has curved sides and corners. The former also lacks a red highlight around the edges of the rear cameras, which is what gives the latter a more striking appearance.
Spec-wise, the Xiaomi 14T Pro has a Dimensity 9300+ chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It has the same 6.67-inch OLED display and 5000mAh, which isn't as big of an upgrade now as the Xiaomi 14 Pro. But the 50MP main camera is the same 1/1.31" sensor in the Xiaomi 14 Pro, so you get 8K video capture.
