After months of hype, Xiaomi has finally released the Xiaomi 15 Series in China, making it the first smartphone series to be powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Comprising the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, read on to learn more.
Let’s start with the Xiaomi 15, which is powered by the flagship Qualcomm SoC paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Battery-wise, it’s a 5400mAh cell with support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The display is a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED with a 1.5K resolution, 3200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision support and a centre punch-hole housing the 32MP selfie shooter. At the rear, the main camera is a 50MP shooter, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP telephoto.
Other notable specs include an IP68 rating, Android 15 via HyperOS 2.0, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen, an IR blaster, stereo speakers and colour options of either Lilac, Green, Black, White or Bright Silver. There’s also a Custom Edition with up to 20 colours to choose from, including 2 paint jobs for the aluminium frame, which is only available in 16/512GB configuration.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with 12/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage. The battery is a massive 6100mAh cell with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The screen is a ‘micro-curved’ 6.73-inch LTPO OLED with 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution, an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, 3200 nits peak brightness and a centre punch-hole cutout housing the 32MP selfie shooter. At the rear, the main camera is 50MP, paired with 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP periscope telephoto with the Sony IMX858.
Other notable specs include WiFi 7, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Android 15 via HyperOS 2.0, an IP68 rating, IR blaster and colour options of either Grey, White, Green and Rock Silver with a 3D water ripple effect.
