The Xiaomi 15 series has launched in style in Barcelona, ahead of this year's MWC 2025 event. Among the series is the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, a phone with great features and powerful photography capabilities in one body. Here's a quick overview of what to expect.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra sports a large camera module packing powerful lenses. Available in three colour variants - black, white, and silver chrome. It was designed to look like a classic camera, which is particularly noticeable with the silver chrome variant, as it has a two-tone finish that makes it look like a retro camera.

Boasting a 6.73-inch screen, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's AMOLED display has a resolution of 3200 x 1440 for a high pixel density of 522 ppi. It also has a 3200 nits multi-scenario peak brightness and 1-120Hz refresh rate. Its 1hz Always-active Display can show important info like the time, date and notifications, while keeping power draw low.

There's also an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, so you can unlock the phone even when the screen is wet. On that topic, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra also has great durability. It has the advanced Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which has the Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0 for up to 16 times better drop resistance. Its high-strength CNC-crafted aluminium frame ensures that it's lightweight yet durable, while Corning Gorilla Glass 7i helps prevent scratches.

On the back is the highly anticipated camera module, which consists of four cameras. The first is a 23mm Leica 1-inch main camera powered by a 50MP Sony LYT-900 image sensor. Next is a Leica Summilux optical lens with a large ƒ/1.63 aperture. The third camera is a 70mm Leica floating telephoto camera, followed by a Leica 100mm 200MP ultra-telephoto camera. Each camera is designed for a different purpose, but all promise exceptional camera capabilities for mobile photography enthusiasts or professionals.

In addition, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is capable of shooting 4K videos at 120fps. It also supports Dolby Vision video recording at 4K 60fps, 10-bit Log video recording at all focal lengths, and provides both OIS and EIS. To ensure it has enough storage for videos, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is available in two configurations with 16GB of RAM with 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
