Today, smartphone manufacturers are continually developing new phones. Xiaomi's T-variant flagship-class smartphones typically launch around September. However, the company is already preparing this year's model - the Xiaomi 17T.
Chipset confirmed?
According to @paperking13 on X (via GSMArena), information mined from HyperOS 3 indicates that the Xiaomi 17T will be powered by an MT6991 chipset. A quick Google search confirms that this is the Dimensity 9400. This is an older MediaTek chipset (launched 9 October 2024), so it's possible Xiaomi chose it to reduce the final price.
As a reminder, HyperOS 3 is the latest version of Xiaomi's custom Android UI. It's used for all Xiaomi mobile devices, so the data found should be accurate. Anyway, the source also found code confirming that the Xiaomi 17T will have a 6500mAh battery and support 67W fast charging. The battery capacity is a significant upgrade, as it's a full 1000mAh more than last year's model.

Same cameras
In addition, the Xiaomi 17T allegedly has the same camera configuration as last year's Xiaomi 15T. For reference, the Xiaomi 15T has a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and 12MP ultra-wide camera. It also has a 32MP front camera. But even if all four cameras will have the same sensors and pixel count, it's possible for there to be minor upgrades. For instance, the aperture, pixel size, and other features.
Still too early?
Since the Xiaomi 17T's expected launch is in September 2026, the specs and features of the Xiaomi 17T may not be finalised. In other words, Xiaomi could make some adjustments before proceeding to mass production. Of course, we won't know for sure unless Xiaomi starts releasing teasers or official announcements.
