Xiaomi Civi 2 could launch internationally as Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE

Last month, Xiaomi launched its selfie-focused Civi 2. We don't usually see this series launched outside of China, but that could change this time. Specifically, the Xiaomi Civi 2 could be rebranded as the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE for the global market.

According to ITHome (source in Chinese), the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE was certified by the FCC. Its model number 2210129SG has a 'G' in it, which is the designation for devices sold globally. The Xiaomi Civi 2's model number is 2209129SC, so the claim of it being a rebrand checks out. Anyway, this mid-range model would be a solid improvement over the standard Xiaomi 12 Lite.

Since that's proven, we can also confirm the specs for the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE. This device should come with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. It should also have a 50MP+20MP+2MP camera setup at the back, a 32MP+32MP dual camera, a 6.55-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 4500mAh battery.

While its main camera is a 50MP sensor (vs 108MP), this 5G variant has enough improvements to make it a better option. It's unknown if Xiaomi would release it in Malaysia, but we'll keep an eye out for updates. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
