Just a few hours ago, Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition was announced by the company and it will be on sale on 29 April 2016 at 10AM. According to their website, the Gold Edition will have both standard and premium versions, the premium version will feature a 3D glass instead of ceramic and will cost 2299 Yuan (around RM1385), whilst the standard is 1999 Yuan (around RM1204). Also, there's a white Mi 5 Pro model with 3D Glass back as well that will go on sale on the same day with 2599 Yuan (around RM1566).
The Gold Edition has some tech-specs changes from the original too, the standard version will feature a Snapdragon 820 clocked at 1.8GHz, Adreno 530 @ 510MHz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB UFS 2.0 storage and front facing fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, the premium version sports an overclocked Snapdragon 820 at 2.15GHz and Adreno 510 @ 624MHz, 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The Mi 5 Pro version's RAM and ROM are 4GB and 128GB respectively, and available in white and black.
There's also a Mi 5 Pro with a black ceramic body for $416 (around RM1626), but it won't be available for purchase tomorrow. Stay tuned for more news at Technave.com!
