Xiaomi Mi 5 won't be released so soon according to Xiaomi CEO

Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun has made a humble appearance in the company’s forums, announcing to the fans that the Xiaomi Mi 5 won’t be released so early next year. The reason for delaying the Mi 5 is because they are waiting for the first wave of smartphones equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, which will be the latest chipset in the first quarter of 2016.

Not much is known about the Snapdragon 820, performance wise. Xiaomi is waiting for the chipset production to ramp up so they can start manufacturing and meet the demand of Mi 5 in the future. Furthermore, Lei Jun emphasized that Xiaomi “puts greater importance on the user experience and mass production, rather than being first”. It’s good to know the company cares about that instead of jumping on the bandwagon and rushing product designs.

Lei Jun also told the fans that the Mi 5 will be “worth waiting for” and it will be an “amazing” device. So in other words, no Malaysia release date for it yet. But we will keep a look out for you so stay tuned.
