As previously reported, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has been unveiled in China today along with the Mi MIX Alpha. We are still monitoring the latter so as for now, here's everything you want to know about the latest 5G smartphone by Xiaomi

The Mi 9 Pro 5G doesn't look too different from the Mi 9, but it does sport a glassy panel on both sides. It measures 6.39-inches, using AMOLED display in FHD+ with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, achieving a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. You can also expect an in-display fingerprint and a notch for the camera.

As a 5G smartphone, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, being able to clock up to 2.96GHz with up to 12GB of RAM. The internal storage is pretty massive too, going up to 512GB but there is no expandable memory available for this. Battery capacity is 4000mAh and that's not the only impressive part, but the charging technology.

For wired charging, it has a 40W charging speed and the company said that it only takes 48 minutes to fully charge. We are more impressed with the wireless charging, though, because it now supports 30W and takes 69 minutes to fully charge (nice). In addition, it even supports reverse wireless charging.

The Mi 9 Pro 5G has the exact same setup as the Mi 9 which is a 48MP (Sony IMX586) + 12MP (telephoto) + 16MP (ultra-wide) triple rear camera, and a 20MP front camera. In other features, it also houses MIUI 11 (Android 9), 3.5mm headphone jack, USB C, Xiao AI 3.0 voice assistant, a vapour chamber liquid cooling technology inside the body to keep it cool and more.

Available in white and black, there are apparently four pricing variants for this. You can check them out below:

  • 8GB + 128GB – 3699 Yuan (~RM2176)
  • 8GB + 256 GB – 3799 Yuan (~RM2235)
  • 12GB + 256 GB – 4099 Yuan (~RM2412)
  • 12GB + 512 GB – 4299 Yuan (~RM2529)

We are probably not seeing the Mi 9 Pro 5G anytime soon since Malaysia is not ready for 5G yet, but what do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Xiaomi news at TechNave.com.
