Today, Xiaomi has unveiled the brand new Mi MIX 3 and although it seems like there's nothing much to look at compared with its predecessor, the flagship has a plot twist because the dual front camera can't be found anywhere as they are hiding in a new magnetic slider. Besides that, there's a new colour called Jade Green and it just looks fabulous. Let's get on to the specifications and features!

As one of the newest devices to come in a true full-screen display, the magnetic slider uses a magnet mechanism (neodymium, in fact) instead of a motorized one and all the user has to do is push down the display for the dual front camera to come up. According to the company, Xiaomi claimed that the slider has a life expectancy of 300,000 cycles in lab tests. That being said, the slider can also be customized to answering calls or open different apps with it and many more. With this, Xiaomi was able to achieve a new record of 93.4% screen-to-body ratio on the 6.39-inch display.

The Special Palace Museum Edition model

As a flagship, you can bet that it features the standard tech-specs such as the Snapdragon 845. The flagship also packs a quad-camera setup with two for each side with several AI capabilities making it ideal for low light photography. In fact, DxOMark gave the flagship 108 score which is quite impressive. But what's even more impressive is the fact there is a Special Palace Museum Edition model with 10GB of RAM featuring a legendary Chinese creature Xiezhi on the blue back cover. Much badassery.

There's also a dedicated AI button to the left side of the phone, which users can press to command Xiao Ai voice assistant. At the moment, it can only understand seven Chinese dialects. There will be another model coming soon with 5G connectivity in the first quarter of 2019, so that's still a long way to go.
