If you like to read e-books, a dedicated e-reader might be something you should invest in. When it comes to e-readers, Amazon Kindle is probably the most well-known brand. But did you know Xiaomi also has an e-reader? In fact, the company just launched a new model.

Xiaomi quietly unveiled the Mi Reader Pro on its online store for China yesterday. The new model delivers significant upgrades over the Mi Reader, with a large 7.8-inch e-ink screen for you to read your favourite e-books. Besides that, it comes with LED backlight with 24 levels of adjustment, so you can even read in the dark.

Although some brands like the Amazon Kindle series uses an in-house operating system, the Mi Reader Pro uses Android 8.1 Oreo, so you can get access to e-books from the Google Play Store as well. The device itself has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is more than enough to store hundreds of e-books or more. In addition to that, it has a 3200mAh battery that can last up to 70 days (on standby).

The Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro retails for 1299 yuan (~RM806), but it probably won't be available outside of China anytime soon. Having said that, would you be interested in getting one of these? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more trending tech news.
