It was certainly a big day for Xiaomi yesterday. Besides launching the Mi 10 Ultra and Redmi K30 Ultra, the company also officially unveiled a new TV. Specifically, it's the new Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition and it's a transparent TV as the name suggests!

Although other companies like LG are also working on transparent TVs, Xiaomi has now become the first to mass-produce them. As Xiaomi announced, the Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition is a flagship OLED TV that looks like a glass display when it's not turned on. It will retail for 49999 yuan (~RM30231) and will be available in China starting from 16 August 2020.

All the key components of the TV are inside the base

Moving on, this 55-inch OLED TV comes with some amazing tech specs. It has a static contrast ratio of 15000:1, covers 93% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum, and supports 120Hz refresh rate. Inside the base of the TV where all the components are contained, you'll also find a custom MediaTek 9650 chipset that is supposed to help tweak the TV's picture settings according to the content being watched.

Xiaomi has not mentioned if this TV will be launched outside of China, but we think it's only a matter of time before we see a global launch. With that said, would you be interested in this transparent TV? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
