A few weeks ago, it was rumoured that Xiaomi was getting ready to release the Mi TV Stick soon. This USB dongle would be enough to turn your TV into a Smart TV. It's taken longer than expected, but now new hints are suggesting that the launch could be right around the corner.

According to Android TV Rumour (on Twitter), the Mi TV Stick bearing the model number MiTV-AESP0 has officially been approved by Google. This suggests that the company will be able to launch it soon. Most likely, Xiaomi will wait for a major launch to sneak in this Android TV dongle or just quietly release it without an official launch.

Besides that, some specs of the dongle have also been revealed. It has been confirmed that the Mi TV Stick will sport the Amlogic S805Y chipset, which comes with four Cortex-A53 CPU cores and three Mali 450 GPU cores. Additionally, it has 1GB of RAM and supports Full HD resolution. There's no 4K here, but there are rumours that say Xiaomi is working on another Mi TV Stick that will support 4K. This 4K model bears the model number MiTV-ANSP0 and was spotted on Geekbench.

We don't have any confirmed dates on when these will be launched, but they may be out within July. But with that said, would you rather just get a new Smart TV or buy this? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
