In an unexpected twist, Xiaomi has just announced that they have joined forces with OPPO and Vivo to create a Cross-Brand File Transfer Alliance between their smartphones. With this established alliance, the initiative is to offer a better file transmission experience for the users.

According to the official introduction, smartphones from all three brands will have the cross-platform transfer feature without the need of a third-party application. It will be able to support a wide variety of file formats in high-speed connection reaching up to 20MB/s. This feature should be relying on Bluetooth and NFC connectivity for the file transfer, or something else they are working on.

Xiaomi further said that the technology should be ready to go online by the end of August, which sounds like it could be a software update in the near future. On top of that, the company is also calling for more partners to join the alliance on this ecosystem.

What do you think about this? Personally, this is surely a convenient way for us to share media files together. Stay tuned for more Xiaomi news at TechNave.com.
