Xiaomi launched a slew of devices in China yesterday, including a new variant of its Pad 5 series tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. The largest and most high-end tablet in the series, the screen is measured at 12.4-inch diagonally (as the name would suggest) and is a 120Hz LCD display with a resolution of 2.5k.
Moreover, the screen also sports features such as P3 colour gamut, Dolby vision, HDR10 and 500 nits peak brightness. The bezels are also slimmer than its other Pad 5 siblings, which gives it a modern look and aesthetic. The tablet measures at 248.96mm x 185.23mm x 6.66mm.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor paired with either 6 or 8GB of RAM. The chipset used also allows the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 to have 5G connectivity.
The tablet packs a massive 10,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Xiaomi asserted that the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 can fully charge from zero in 68 minutes. Despite the large battery, the tablet is still relatively light at 620 grams.
As for cameras, the tablet packs a rather unconventional triple-camera setup with a 50MP main shooter and two 2MP depth-of-field sensors at its rear. Meanwhile at its front, there’s a 20MP selfie camera.
The tablet also comes with a couple of optional accessories, namely a keyboard case and stylus. Other notable specs include a Dolby Atmos quad-speaker setup, two microphones for better audio quality for voice and video calls, Android 12 OS via MIUI Pad 13 and three colour options of Green, Silver and Black.
The Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is available in three storage options, with the base 6/128GB variant priced at CNY 2799 (~RM1780), 8/256GB for CNY3299 (~RM2175) and 12/512GB at CNY3999 (~RM2637). For now, the tablet is only available in China with Xiaomi yet to reveal any plans for a global release.
