As MWC 2026 kicks off, Xiaomi has introduced a wide array of devices. Besides the Xiaomi 17 Series for the global launch, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro were also announced, and are Xiaomi’s thinnest and most powerful tablet series to date. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Tech Specs and Features

Both models are equipped with an 11.2-inch 3.2K display that supports up to 800 nits of brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. Inside, the tablets measure just 5.75mm thin and weigh 485g, and even include a sizeable 9200mAh battery in both devices.

At the top of the lineup, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform. The device also supports 67W HyperCharge for quick top-ups and features a 50MP rear camera alongside a 32MP front camera, catering to users who require high-quality image capture and video conferencing. Storage options go up to 512GB.

Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform. It also supports 45W turbo charging and features a 13MP rear camera paired with an 8MP front camera for daily photography and video calls. Storage configurations go up to 256GB only.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Series runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which introduces a more refined visual design alongside system-level intelligence powered by Xiaomi HyperAI. Updated lock screens, wallpapers, and desktop elements are enhanced with subtle animations and customizable widgets to create a more polished interface.

Productivity enhancements are a major focus. The updated split-screen layout now supports a 5:5 vertical split view for balanced multitasking, along with a new 1:9 horizontal split ratio for flexible window management. Workstation Mode has also been upgraded, allowing more apps to remain in the Dock for quicker access.

HyperOS 3 further expands functionality with support for a PC-Level Browser experience, complete with mouse-hover previews, right-click functionality, and an enhanced toolbar. This enables smoother interaction with online platforms and productivity tools. Integrated WPS Office PC ensures compatibility with WPS Docs, Slides, Sheets, and PDFs, allowing users to create and edit documents directly on the tablet.

Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro and Accessories

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Series also introduces the new Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro, a lightweight 17.5g stylus designed with pressure-sensitive input and intuitive pinch and double-tap gestures. The tablets are compatible with the Xiaomi Pad 8 and 8 Pro Focus Keyboard, standard Keyboard, and protective Cover, allowing users to transform the devices into more complete productivity tools.
