Earlier this week, it was reported that Xiaomi would launch the Xiaomi 17 series later this month. Some teasers of the new phones are already out, but that's not all Xiaomi plans to unveil. It was also confirmed that new Pad series tablets will be launched at the same event.
Xiaomi Pad 8 series
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing has confirmed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will also launch later this month. The new tablets will feature an 11.2-inch screen, a high-performance processor, and Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0. Although the processor wasn't revealed, it's believed that Xiaomi has opted for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

This was confirmed by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro would sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The Xiaomi Pad 8 model will come with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset instead. Furthermore, both models will have a 9200mAh battery, a small upgrade over their predecessors. As for charging, the Pad 8 supports 45W while the Pad 8 Pro supports 67W.
PC-support added
In addition, the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will have PC support. It's reported that the new tablets will have a "PC-level" web browser, WPS Office, and CAD software. They will also come with a detachable keyboard and stylus. It was not confirmed whether those are bundled with the tablets. If the answer is "Yes", then the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will become more suitable as laptop replacements.
