Donovan Sung, Director of Product Management, Xiaomi Global launching the Xiaomi Redmi 2 for Malaysia

So far, there doesn't seem to be any difference  from our previous review and hands-on of the international Redmi 2 apart from the pricing but the unboxing could include a Malaysian 3-pin USB charger instead. This isn't a bad thing though, as the Xiaomi Redmi 2 remains one of the best bang-for-your-buck value 64-bit smartphones available for Malaysia. We'll be checking out the Malaysian version Xiaomi Redmi 2 in a bit so stay tuned but in related news, Xiaomi Malaysia confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Note would be coming to Malaysia eventually. No exact Malaysia release dates when but we expect it to come in the next few months. While there are no plans to bring over the 2GB RAM version of the Xiaomi Redmi 2, they said that they would definitely consider it if there was a demand for it.
