Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 officially announced, metal body + fingerprint sensor for RMB899

So it's official, Xiaomi has unveiled the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to the world and listed the official tech specs. Without further ado, here you go:-

  • Octa-core 64-bit Cortex-A53 with MediaTek Helio X10 processor
  • 2GB and 3GB dual-channel LPDDR3 RAM variants 
  • 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants
  • 5.5-inch Full HD, fully-laminated display with Xiaomi Sunlight  Display technology
  • 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera
  • Fingerprint sensor with 0.3 seconds unlock
  • MIU7 based on Android OS
  • 4000 mAh battery

In terms of price, the 2GB variant will cost CNY 899 (RM 596.06) and CNY 1099 (RM 728.66) for the 3GB variant. It comes in a full metal body in gold, silver, or dark grey, the device is very lightweight with its body measuring 8.65mm (thickest point) and weighing 164g only. It also comes with fast charging technology which is able to charge 50% in hour, which is more than enough since the battery capacity is is 4000 mAh.

No Malaysia release dates yet but it could be coming next month. This is just the first device unveiled and more information will come soon, so stay tuned!
