Teasers of their upcoming budget phone, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 have appeared showing what appears to be a glass covered smartphone with metal frame. Tech specs are expected to include an 18:9 aspect ratio display, screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and a dual 12MP + 5MP camera in the rear, and a single 5MP selfie camera on the front which will also be used for the facial unlocking feature that the device will be capable of.

To go more into detail about the tech specs, the budget phone will be running on a Snapdragon 625 chipset, at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The whole device is powered by a 3080mAh battery which is enough to last a whole afternoon with its energy efficient chipset.

There is no other official news of the Xiaomi Redmi S2 but it has been speculated that the smartphone MIGHT be unveiled alongside the Mi 6X on 25 April 2018. We should see a Malaysian release along with its price not too long after the official unveiling but as always with such rumours, do take it with a pinch of salt.
