So yeah, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 is said to be launch in the near future this month in China. Not much is known about this device or even the series, except that it could be a mid-range tier device according to the rumours online, but new information is also suggesting that it will focus as a selfie expert.
According to the official teasers by Xiaomi as seen in the cover image above, the Redmi S2 will come with an AI Portrait and AI Beauty mode. Aren't they the same thing? Well, not really. The AI Portrait will definitely be getting some help from its secondary sensor for blurring the background and the AI, enhancing the subject's facial features and this could work on the front camera as well. As for the AI Beauty, it will be a tool for the user to have a digital makeup and this actually sounds a bit more advanced than the typical AI Beauty mode, which usually just makes your skin glow by each level.
By the way, the teaser also mentioned that one of the dual rear cameras will be a 12MP sensor. The secondary one could be a 5MP according to sources. Besides that, the Redmi S2 is featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3000mAh battery, a 5.99-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio in HD+ resolution, a front 16MP selfie snapper and various memory capacity at 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB.
