Xiaomi Redmi Watch release: Up to 12-day battery life, heart-rate tracking, and 7 sports mode tracking for ~RM185

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Xiaomi would launch a Redmi smartwatch. Well, the company held a big launch event yesterday to introduce a bunch of new devices in China, which included the Redmi Watch. Let's take a quick look at what this watch has to offer.

The Redmi Watch comes with a 1.4-inch watch display, supports seven sports tracking mode, and has water resistance for up to 50 metres. It has a lightweight (35g) and sporty design, with a watch body that features 2.5D glass and metal buttons, as well as a removable TPU plastic strap. In addition to that, it has a 1.4-inch screen and biometric sensors for heart-rate and sleep monitoring.

As for features, the Redmi Watch has a 230mAh battery that's can last 7 days on a single charge or up to 12 days in battery saving mode. Besides that, it has seven different sports tracking modes, water-resistance of up to 50 metres, NFC support, and more than 120 watch faces. The new watch is being retailed in China for 299 yuan (~RM185).

In related news, leakster Mukul Sharma has revealed that the Redmi Watch and Mi Watch Lite have received the Bluetooth SIG certification. This is a strong indicator that both devices are being prepared for a global launch. The Redmi Watch is likely the variant we'll be getting in Malaysia, while the Mi Watch Lite is the same device, except for specific regions like Europe.
