Last night, Xiaomi unveiled the MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip for China. Leaving aside whether it launches in Malaysia, Xiaomi had more than just smartphones to showcase at the launch. The company also revealed the Smart Band 9, just 4 months after the Smart Band 8 Pro made it here.

Anyway, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 doesn't look any different compared to the Smart Band 8. It has an oblong-shaped body with a metal frame, giving it a chic look that many would appreciate. It even has different straps to make it more appealing to other users, including a link chain strap that turns the Smart Band 9 into a bracelet. Xiaomi also included a variant with a white ceramic body.

Ok, the design hasn't changed much. But the specs have. Its 1.62-inch AMOLED screen now sports a higher brightness of up to 1200 nits. The heart rate sensor has improved, providing 16% more accuracy and now supports blood oxygen and stress tracking. Xiaomi has confirmed the sleep tracking feature now has improved accuracy and can suggest optimal sleep cycles to the user. Another improvement is the battery capacity, now rated at 233mAh for up to 21 days of runtime (from 16 days max).

The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 retails for CNY249 (~RM161), CNY299 (~RM193) for the NFC variant, and CNY349 (~RM225) for the Special Ceramic version. No launch date for Malaysia yet, but we expect it to eventually make its way to our shores. So, are you interested in getting the new model?
