Xiaomi released several new products yesterday (11 December 2022) in China, including the Xiaomi Watch S2 series, the successor to the popular Xiaomi Watch S1 series. Coming in a circular dial design and in two sizes (42mm and 46mm), check out the full specs of the wearable series below.
According to the Xiaomi official Chinese website, all variants of the Watch S2 come with an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, with the 42mm variant having a 1.32-inch screen and the 46mm configuration having a 1.43-inch display. All variants also come with a stainless steel middle frame and sapphire glass, with two oblong-shaped physical buttons on the right side.
The Watch S2 is equipped with the usual health monitoring features, including heart rate, SpO2 and temperature sensors. However, unlike other smartwatches out there, the wearable sports a body composition measurement feature that records data like fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, protein volume and more.
This is usually only available on smart scales but Xiaomi has managed to include it with the Watch S2 and requires users to place two fingers on the side buttons. Other health and fitness-related features of the Watch S2 include sleep and stress trackers, women’s menstrual cycle monitoring, breathing exercises as well as over 100 sports modes.
Besides that, the Watch S2 has a built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling, a safety tracking feature that sends help to the user’s pre-set contacts during emergencies, GPS, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. In terms of battery, the 42mm variant has a 305mAh cell that Xiaomi claims last 7 days while the 46mm configuration sports a 500mAh cell with up to 12 days of usage.

- Watch S2 46mm Black standard - CNY1099 or ~RM696
- Watch S2 46mm Light Gold leather - CNY1299 or ~RM823
Like other products that the company released in China yesterday, Xiaomi has yet to reveal their availability outside of the country. However, we do expect that a global release will commence in the new future.
