Rumour has it, Xiaomi will be partnering with Leica for a smartphone that is coming in the future. Of course, we already know that the device in question is the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which will be the most powerful variant of the Xiaomi 12 series. Today, an app has further confirmed the partnership, which might also be telling us that the launch is getting close!

Spotted in Xiaomi's Chinese MIUI ROM, the Gallery Editor app has multiple lines of codes pointing towards the Leica filters. However, it will not be the only thing the camera company will contribute. Previous rumours have also mentioned that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will definitely have Leica lenses.

HUAWEI was the first smartphone company that signed a partnership deal with Leica, but it ended a while ago. Therefore, Xiaomi might have seized the chance and quickly filled in the gap, seeing that there are also other Chinese smartphone brands working with reputable camera companies. These are OPPO and vivo, which partner with Hasselblad and ZEISS respectively.
