We have seen Xiaomi’s first entry into the notebook market with the Mi Notebook Air, which was released sometime early this year. While it is a great machine for its price, there was a glaring mistake if it is to be adopted by roadwarriors. Xiaomi did see this omission, and now has created a new model specifically for this market. The new Mi Notebook Air now comes with a built-in 4G radio right in the body.

The specifications are still around the same. The 12.5-inch device is just 14.8mm thick and only weighs in at 1.07kg but this comes at a price - Xiaomi opted to go for lightness and portability so they only fitted a Core M family processor in this machine. The 13.3-inch notebook is slightly heavier at 1.28kg, but it comes with an Intel Core i5-6200U CPU, an NVidia 940MX GPU and 8GB DDR4 RAM.

The 12.5” notebook costs 4699 CNY or about RM 3029 while it’s bigger sibling is priced at 6999 CNY or about RM 4512 with the data plan included courtesy of China Mobile. No news if these models will come overseas so stay tuned to TechNave for more news on the new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G.
