If you're wondering how smartphone brands are doing these days, the answer is as always - it depends. Some companies have not been doing as well as they'd like, while others have flourished despite the pandemic. Xiaomi is definitely in the second category for Q2 2021.

According to Canalys, Xiaomi has become the second biggest company in terms of smartphone sales in Q2 2021. The company saw a massive 83% growth compared to Q2 2020, allowing it to take 17% of the smartphone market share. It's currently ahead of Apple by 3% and just 2% behind market leader Samsung.

Canalys suggests that Xiaomi is now firmly in the incumbent category, and no longer just a challenger to the likes of Samsung and Apple. The company is still more focused on products for the mass market. But Canalys believes that the company's priority would be to launch more high-end devices to compete in the top end.

There are plenty of brands that are adopting the same strategy, so it'll be interesting to see what Xiaomi will do to stay on top. Having said that, have you bought any Xiaomi devices in recent months? Let us know what you think of them in the comments! Also, stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
