Xiaomi not only produces smartphones, but the Chinese tech giant has also been producing other tech products like home appliances under the company’s sub-brand Mijia. In 2016, the company released an electric scooter and it has received many awards. Now, they are finally bringing us the upgraded version of the electric scooter in 2020, and it’s called Xiaomi Mijia Scooter 1S.
The Scooter 1s has a lot of interesting features that you seldom find in an electric scooter. First up, it is said that the scooter can run self-diagnosis and notify the user about any malfunction in an interactive visual dashboard. Furthermore, the small screen will also display other information like real time speed, driving status, battery life and more, all in one glance. To navigate the screen, there will be only one button to keep it simple for the users to execute various functions.

For the design, the Scooter 1S features an aviation grade aluminium alloy body and weighs only 12.5kg. With such a light body, the scooter will be able to carry loads up to 100kg as well. When not in use, it is mentioned that the scooter only takes 3 seconds to be folded. Other than that, the integrated DC motor used by the scooter enables it to speed up to 25km/h and can last up to 30 kilometers in a single full charge. Users can also choose between energy saving mode, normal mode, and an adjustable sports mode according to their preferences.
Last but not least, the Xiaomi Mijia Scooter 1S is equipped with two 8.5 inch tires that are wear and skid resistant. For the brake system, it uses a double brake design for front and rear wheels. Another special thing about the scooter is that it is able to recover a small portion of battery when the throttle is released and the brake handle is pressed. The electric scooter also supports ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and has a large disc brake structure. For the price, it will be sold starting from 1999 Yuan (~RM1242).
