Although most corners of the world are still in the early development phase for 5G or even haven't started, Xiaomi still managed to push the sale of its 5G devices by becoming the world's no. 1 5G Android smartphone brand. The news came from Xiaomi India through a Twitter post celebrating the achievement.

According to the statistics provided by Strategy Analytics, the Chinese tech company had a 25.7 percent market share in the second quarter of this year. It is also shown that the company has shipped 24 million 5G enabled smartphones during the quarter through its Mi and Redmi brands.

One of the reasons for Xiaomi to have such achievement could be the affordable 5G devices offered. It is worth mentioning that not only flagships, but plenty of budget phones also come with 5G support nowadays. Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi might have excelled in that part and led the company to surpass many other smartphone brands.

Most recent smartphones, regardless of price, come with 5G support, so it's not an extra fancy feature anymore. Therefore, you might have purchased a 5G device and didn't even notice, as Malaysia hasn't started to deploy the network yet. Leave your comments to let us know your thoughts!
