Xiaomi recently launched a mid-range smartphone under its POCO subbrand in Malaysia, the POCO F7, with the standout feature being its large 6500mAh battery. The Indian variant of the smartphone is even more impressive with its 7550mAh cell, and it looks like Xiaomi ain’t resting on its laurels, as the company is touted to launch POCO and Redmi smartphones with over 8000mAh battery capacity next year!
Xiaomi may launch Redmi and POCO smartphones with 8000mAh batteries in 2026
This is according to the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who took to Weibo to reveal the exclusive information. In the post, he said that Xiaomi will launch smartphones under its subbrands with batteries starting with ‘8’ next year.
However, Digital Chat Station didn’t elaborate much about which subbrand in particular, but given POCO and Redmi usually rebrand each other’s smartphones, they’re both likely to get the gigantic battery capacity.
In a follow-up post, the tipster asserted that industry testing by Xiaomi was able to implement a maximum of 8500mAh capacity on a single battery. Not only that, they’re also researching 9000mAh batteries.
Of course, do take this with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed just yet. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news.
