Xiaomi may be ditching Qualcomm and MediaTek for its own in-house chipsets soon, according to reliable tipster Yogesh Brar. Taking to X, the tipster claimed that the in-house SoC may be announced as soon as the 1st half of next year.
Brar asserted that Xiaomi’s SoC project is currently going strong and that the 1st chipset would be based on TSMC’s N4P. Moreover, he asserted that the SoC’s performance is on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and uses a 5G modem by Unisoc.
Brar touted the release for H1 2025 and besides the in-house SoC, the Chinese tech giant may also release many revolutionary products that are currently in its pipeline. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet.
