Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is well-known for its sub-brands such as Redmi and POCO that cater for varying audiences; a business model that has proven to be successful over the years. In fact, the company may be diversifying its lineup even further by reportedly planning to introduce another sub-brand that caters for tech enthusiasts.

As reported by The Mobile Indian, the upcoming sub-brand may be trying to emulate the past success of OnePlus phones among the tech enthusiasts crowd. The devices of the sub-brand are claimed to be running near-stock Android out of the box instead of Xiaomi’s MIUI skin.

Moreover, the report alleges that the first releases of the new sub-brand will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series processors. The base model will feature the Snapdragon 765 SoC, while the more premium devices will get Snapdragon 778.

Besides that, the sub-brand will also be assured of three major Android updates. As for security patches, they will also be assured by Xiaomi for up to four years.

The new sub-brand may also be manufactured in India and will be priced between Rs15,000 to Rs25,000 (~RM843 to ~RM1405). However, do take this information with a grain of salt as Xiaomi has yet to make any official statement regarding the matter. Well, let’s just wait to find out then.
