Xiaomi no longer labelled as a Communist Chinese Military Company by the US government

Back in early May, Xiaomi was happy to share the news that the company was no longer blacklisted by the US government. However, it was even better news when Xiaomi released a statement not too long ago that the US government no longer view the company as a Communist Chinese Military Company (CCMC).

In case you have been under a rock, the US Department of Defense first designated Xiaomi as a CCMC back on 14 January 2021. Xiaomi of course responded and pled for a fair trial and was granted a preliminary injunction (an exclusion from the ban) by the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Fast forward to the current event, the same US District Court has issued a final order to the US Department of Defense to remove the label.

Now that Xiaomi is no longer labelled as a CCMC, this allows every US resident can now purchase or hold securities from the company. Xiaomi would also like to take this opportunity for all the trust and support of all of the Mi fans globally, as well as partners, employees and shareholders. Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun also reiterated that Xiaomi will remain open, transparent and independently operated.

So when will it be Huawei's turn? God knows. Until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
