Previously, we've seen different smartphone patents showcase folding screens, sliding screens, and rollable screens. However, most of them only focus on one way instead of mixing them. Now, it is discovered that Xiaomi has patented a smartphone that not only has a full-screen design, but it also comes with a sliding mechanism for the rollable screen.
According to the patent spotted by LetsGoDigital, the smartphone has a screen that extends from the front to the back. The only places that don't have the screen covered are the top, sides, and the top area of the rear panel. Other than that, it also looks like the smartphone can be slid to make the front camera that hides behind the screen appear when needed.

However, we think that it is very little chance that Xiaomi will make this smartphone commercially available. The company is more likely to present this idea as a concept phone like the Mi Mix Alpha. Therefore, let's not get your hopes up for seeing the smartphone being launched in the near future.
