It looks like the US government is now after Xiaomi for the same reason that they imposed a trade ban on HUAWEI. Earlier, it was reported that US individuals or companies are not allowed to invest in the Chinese tech company anymore as it was added to the blacklist of companies suspected of having ties to the ruling Chinese Communist Party. However, the good news has arrived today with an official statement from Xiaomi claiming that the restriction has now been removed.
In the statement, Xiaomi claims that it will continue to request that the US government permanently removes it from the blacklist. It also presented itself as a young and energetic technology company that is committed to working with global partners. For now, the US federal court has halted the ban issued by the Trump administration back in January.

It is no doubt that Xiaomi will go through a series of challenges if this continues to get worse, as we've witnessed some real-life examples from other companies that were banned by the country. Luckily, Xiaomi has now gotten itself out of the trouble temporarily and is able to continue conducting its business as usual. Let's just hope that the company won't face any worse circumstances compared with this in the future.
