Recently, the International Data Corporation (IDC) has released a report of the top five brands in smartphone shipments during the third quarter of 2020. According to the reports, Samsung is still at the top position, followed by Huawei.

However, what's interesting is that Xiaomi has replaced Apple in the third rank. Typically, Apple, Samsung and Huawei would occupy the top three in most charts globally for smartphones. You can see the chart below on the total production in the third quarter of 2020.

In total, there were 353.6 million smartphones released in the third quarter of this year and this is from July to September 2020. From the chart, Samsung topped the charts with a total production of 80.4 million, followed by Huawei with 51.4 million, then Xiaomi with 46.5 million and 41.6 million units for Apple.

Congrats to Xiaomi for taking third place, but just so you know - this has nothing to do with units sold to consumers yet. Also, vivo is sitting in the fifth spot. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
