We can't deny the fact that Xiaomi's design team is filled with creative people. It is said because they have been trying out all sorts of design when it comes to smartphones. From folding devices to pop-up cameras, they have done it all with fresh and awesome ideas. Now, they are moving forward again with a smartphone that can be folded in a Z shape, or should we say a tablet?

Discovered by LetsGoDigital, the patent filed by the company has revealed that they are working on a device that can be folded in three layers. The primary display is somehow similar to the one on Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 by putting the punch-hole camera and the call speaker on top. When unfolded, the device can get as large as a tablet so we're unsure if it's suitable to call it a smartphone.

However, three layers of screens make the device looks a lot bulkier compared to the ones with only two screens folded together. Therefore, it is deemed as a giant drawback from this design. Finally, we still need to remind you that not all patents will make it to the release, so take this with a pinch of salt.
