Xiaomi has clarified rumours that it’s planning to add a single toggle to disable bloatware on its devices, saying that this is just not true. However, the company did reveal that it is planning to cut down on ads on its devices.

In a statement to Android Authority, Xiaomi said that it’s re-optimising its business strategy to improve user experience by reducing pre-installed apps and content display entry pages. It added that users should be able to see these results quite soon in the company’s flagship devices.

However, the Chinese tech giant said that it isn’t currently planning to add a toggle to disable bloatware and ads, as only a small amount of users would discover and use. Accordingly, Xiaomi cited its philosophy to make changes that are easily accessible and beneficial to all users.
