Just a couple of hours ago, Xiaomi posted an official tweet about their upcoming MIUI 12 launch. Proud to call it as their "best release of the decade", the MIUI 12 Global launch is scheduled on 19 May 2020, 8PM (GMT+8) on their Facebook, YouTube and Twitter page. That said, what's so anticipating about MIUI 12? Here's what we know.
According to several sources, MIUI 12 will offer new features such as updated Android skins and animations, a "cleaner" user interface with navigation gestures, dark mode 2.0, and some new security and privacy modes too. Speaking of privacy, there are 3 features for this called Flare, Barbed Wire, and Mask System that keeps a log of every permission and sensitive information on your phone. It's said that the user can create a virtual identity to counter any hacking attempts.
Besides that, MIUI 12 will also provide a new battery app, a revamped file manager, multi-window, picture-in-picture, AI calling and many more. This new UI operating system already made its debut on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition just last month in China, so expect to see MIUI 12 roll out to other devices soon in the coming months.
