Based on a statement by XDA-Developers, it seems that Xiaomi smartphones will be receiving an update which lets users measure their heart-rate simply by using the device’s camera and flash. If you want to try out the new feature, you can do it by opening the Xiaomi Mi Health app and tap on the “heart rate” section.
However, it is best to note that only the version 2.7.4 of the Xiaomi Mi Health app will come with the new feature, so make sure you have your app updated. The only drawback from this is that your camera lens might be smudged, which means you might want to wipe if you’re keen on taking pictures.
