Xiaomi unveils near perfect bezel-less Mi Mix 2, selfie Mi Note 3 phone and Mi Notebook Pro starting from ~RM1608

Today, Xiaomi introduced not one, but three new products at its event. The new products are the Mi Mix 2, Mi Note 3 and a new Mi Notebook Pro laptop. Below is the official tech-specs so check it out below from what we saw on their livestream event. 

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 6GB RAM
  • 64GB /128GB / 256GB storage (expandable memory available)
  • 5.99-inch FHD AMOLED display (2960 x 1440 pixel)
  • 12MP Sony IMX 386 camera (4-axis OIS) | 5MP front camera
  • Features Fingerprint sensor, Quick Charge 3.0, USB Type-C
  • Supports Global LTE 6 modes 43 bands, NFC, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
  • MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat
  • 3400 mAh battery

On the tech-specs sheet, this is one of the most powerful Xiaomi smartphones, as well as a beautiful and unique looking smartphone that Xiaomi has ever crafted. While it did get bigger, but the overall size became smaller, shorter and narrower measuring 151.8 x 75.5 x mm, the bottom bezel is reduced up th 12% and the screen is curved on all sides. It was also announced that the new flagship will support 43 bands globally, which is good news for the internet lovers.

Aside from that, there is also a Special Edition in Black Ceramic design. This one carries 8GB + 128GB memory capacity and it cost 4699 Yuan (~RM3023), while the standard Mi Mix 2 6GB + 128GB costs 3599 Yuan (~RM2323) and 3999 Yuan (~RM2581) for the 6GB + 256GB variant.

  • Features Fingerprint sensor, Dual Speaker, Facial Recognition, Portrait Mode, Adaptable A.I. Beautify Mode, USB Type-C
  • Supports LTE, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity
  • MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat
  • 3500 mAh battery

Next, Xiaomi also gave us a big surprise on announcing the Mi Note 3. However, it turns out to be just a bigger version of the Mi 6 that focuses on the selfie lovers. Speaking of selfies, the Beautify Mode is really one of a kind as not only it offers females on a special Make Up feature that allows them to do make up digitally (such as removing those eye bags), but even for males as well.

Like the Mi Mix 2, the Mi Note 3 has three variants based on memory which are 2499 Yuan (~RM1608), 2899 Yuan (~RM1865) and 2999 Yuan (~RM1929). 

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro

  • 8th Gen i5 / i7 processor
  • Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU (2GB VRAM)
  • Dual-channel RAM, 8GB / 16GB 
  • PCIe high speed SSD, 256GB storage
  • 15.6-inch display
  • 3rd Gen Corning Gorilla Glass, Harman Infinity speakers and Dolby panoramic sound for headphones
  • 2x USB-C, 2x USB 3.0, a full HDMI port, an SD card reader and a 3.5mm headset jack
  • Backlight keyboard

Finally, Xiaomi also introduced a new laptop model - the Mi Notebook Pro. Nothing much interesting about this laptop except with the fact that it's more powerful that its predecessor. Starting prices with the 8GB i5 model is 5599 Yuan (~RM3602), 8GB i7 model for 6399 Yuan (~RM4117) and 16GB i7 model for 6999 Yuan (~RM4503).
