It looks like Xiaomi has had a great start this year by being crowned the largest Chinese smartphone brand globally. According to a report, the brand’s worldwide market share hit 13% in the month of February, which also helped the company to become the world’s third-largest smartphone brand.
The number is retrieved from Counterpoint Research’s premium monthly tracker service. Not only this, but the company has also been predicted to be the world’s third-largest smartphone brand overall in 2021 by Strategic Analytics. Meanwhile, Apple and Samsung remain untouchable with 20% and 17% market shares respectively.
It is said that Xiaomi has gained advantages in some markets after the infamous trade ban being imposed on HUAWEI. With that, Xiaomi takes the opportunity to offer premium smartphones to more countries besides China. Other than Europe, the company has also started to target the Indian market by releasing more smartphones in the country.
