Planning to balik kampung this CNY? This news might please you. Recently, the government announced toll exemptions on Thursday and Friday. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said this exemption only applies to personal vehicles. He mentioned the exemption starts at 12:01 AM tomorrow and ends at 11:59 PM the next day. This initiative cost the government around RM42.99 million. However, some toll plazas will not be affected by this ruling.

In case you didn’t know, the Sultan Iskandar Building and Tanjung Kupang toll plazas will be exempted from the toll-free day. That’s because they are located at the country’s borders. Alexander also advises everyone to reload their TnG card for a smoother journey. This is what he has to say about it:

“Get enough rest and ensure that your Touch ‘n Go cards have sufficient balance. Users may check the traffic updates on highways via the Malaysian Highway Authority’s social media platforms.”

We at TechNave wish everyone a blessed Chinese New Year and may you have an enjoyable “Balik Kampung” experience.
