As of 23 June 2025, users of Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TNG eWallet) in Malaysia can now refuel and make payments at more than 1,000 PETRONAS stations without leaving their vehicles.
This new functionality is made possible through a partnership between Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd (Setel) and TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (TNGD), integrating Setel’s pump-and-pay feature directly into the TNG eWallet app via the “PETRONAS via Setel” mini programme.
To mark the launch, the first 50,000 eligible transactions will earn RM5 worth of Mesra Rewards points.
Setel aims to make it easier for everyone
The partnership was formalised with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Setel and TNGD. It allows motorists to pay for fuel directly at the pump using TNG eWallet, without needing to switch to a separate app. This integration introduces Setel’s proprietary refuelling system into one of Malaysia’s most widely used digital wallets.
Setel Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Ayman Awaluddin highlighted that the collaboration reflects Setel’s goal of expanding its platform through ecosystem partnerships that offer practical benefits. “Refuelling is a high-frequency transaction,” he said. “Embedding Setel within TNG eWallet allows us to meet users where they are and realise our vision of seamless and frictionless mobility and retail experiences.”

TNG Digital CEO Alan Ni shared that this move supports TNG’s strategy of integrating everyday services into its platform. “Fuel payments are a routine task for many Malaysians,” he said. “This collaboration makes the process faster and more convenient, while also creating new engagement points within PETRONAS’ network.”
Launch promotion and loyalty integration
To celebrate the rollout, TNG eWallet users who make their first fuel payment through the “PETRONAS via Setel” mini programme are eligible for a limited-time promotion:
The first 50,000 eligible transactions will receive RM5 worth of Mesra Rewards points. This offer is open to:
- New users of Setel and Mesra Rewards, or
- Existing Mesra users linking their Mesra ID to Setel for the first time.
In addition, users will also earn TNG eWallet’s GOrewards points for each transaction made via the mini programme. Terms and conditions apply.
