You can now "Add to calendar" from your Gmail but at a price

Google Gemini has been a part of many Android phones nowadays, even your Gmail. Speaking of that, Google has added a new feature, which is asking Gemini in Gmail to perform calendar-related tasks. There's a catch for this but first, the update.

In this update, Gemini can detect a calendar-related email. Upon doing so, an "Add to calendar" button will appear, and then you can add the event to your calendar directly from that email. Once you are done with that, Gmail will open a side panel to confirm the event that has been added to your calendar.

Keep in mind that this new update is only available in English and on the website at this time. Also, the "Add to calendar" button won't appear if the event dates have already been extracted. Other guests will not be included in this update. On top of that, users will need to pay for this feature as it is only available for Google Workspace, Gemini Education or Education Premium users, and Google One AI Premium.

The rollout has already begun and it will take 15 days (or longer) for the feature to be visible. The completion is expected to be done by the middle of April 2025.
