The Sustainability Energy Development Authority of Malaysia or SEDA recently announced that Malaysians can now get an RM200 rebate off of energy efficient refrigerators or air conditioners with at least 4 or 5 star energy ratings for 2026. This is under the Program:NUR Domestik or Nikmat Untuk Rakyat initiative and is valid for every household while rebate units are still available on a first-come first-serve basis or until December 2026.
How to apply?
If you are buying from a registered physical shop you will have to bring some documentation with you such as your electricity bill and IC and make sure to ask about the RM200 rebate. If you're buying online at Shopee or Lazada usually the RM200 will be implemented automatically but you can check out the SEDA site for more info and details.
Be warned though, there's only a limited amount of rebate units available, and even though 160,000 rebate units (about RM32 million ringgit) sounds like a lot, previous rebate programs have ended pretty quickly. So, if you're looking to get a new refrigerator or air conditioner soon, make sure to remember this news on TechNave.com
